My mother is certainly my mentor. I love her style - the softness, the colors. Here I am sharing just a small sample of her painting. Mom painted between 1974-1991. Mary Lee Smith Patterson Tuscaloosa, Alabama 1926 - 2008 These pieces were painted in 1977. Mom's teacher was Mrs Sabrina.

Naomi Elizabeth Sissel Patterson Hope, Arkansas 1899 - 1961 My paternal grandmother. She married John Wesley Patterson, a retail merchant, in 1920. This piece is dated 6 - 19 - 26. This is a celery tray that Naomi painted for her husband in 1926.

Sarah Fontaine Methany Willis Hope, Arkansas abt1876 - unknown My Great Aunt Sarah was a college art teacher. This is a baby dish given to my dad in 1924. This lamp painted by Sarah is dated 1950.

Anna Lafayette Fontaine Kolb Hope, Arkansas 1872 - 1946 My great, great aunt, sister of Grace Fontaine Sissel, my paternal great grandmother Anna Fontaine Kolb was a school teacher. She married James Silas Kolb MD of Mississippi in 1909. She painted these pieces in 1922. T

Alma "Allie" Stuart Hunter Hope, Arkansas 1872 - 1941 My Paternal Great Grandmother Allie married Robert Malcolm Patterson, owner of a dept store in Hope, Arkansas. We have two large vases that Allie painted dated 1911.
