This is my first porcelain box...and it's on its way to California for my sister's birthday next week. This porcelain box was about 6 inches wide. I painted the inside and outside of both lid and base with pink glaze and fired before I started my painting. First Fire: Colors used: FG Ruby D'Or, Soft Pink, Black Green and Deep Blue Green. Seond Fire: I was so happy with the main rose because this was the first time I can say that I achieved a real 3-D effect! I wanted to keep this soft and wispy. On the inside of the box I painted a rose bud. The photos didn't come out very well so I don't have that to show you. The sides and bottom of the base were painted with Black Green and Ruby just as the background was for the top. I fired at .016. The ruby is just beautiful and I love the glossy look of the entire piece. Happy Birthday, Ann! >^..^<
