The first of the year I asked Alma to focus on landscapes with me. With her, they really are fun as it seems the freer that you are with the brush the better! This is one of Texas Bluebonnets...a class favorite! This was done in three fires. The first fire is painted beginning at the top of the piece and working down. Clouds are wipe outs done with a circular motion of your ring finger flat on the porcelain. Most everything else was "blotched on"... just dabbing the paint on with our brush. Everything is brushed over which gives it a blurry look...then fired. The second fire is then putting paint back in and leaving it without brushing so much. Then on the third fire the details are added where needed. Relief white was used for the white part of the bluebonnets.
